JPG, PNG or WebP — which format is best?
JPG is best for photos and works everywhere, but it doesn't support transparency — transparent areas become white.
PNG is lossless and supports transparency. It's ideal for logos, screenshots and graphics, but photos saved as PNG are large.
WebP is a modern format with small file sizes and transparency support. All current browsers can open it, though some older apps can't.

What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
Can I convert AVIF, HEIC, GIF or BMP files?
Yes. AVIF, HEIC (iPhone photos), GIF and BMP images can all be converted to JPG, PNG or WebP. For animated images, only the first frame is kept.
Does converting an image lose quality?
Converting to PNG is lossless. Converting to JPG or WebP uses high quality settings, so the difference is very hard to see.
Are my images uploaded to a server?

Why can't I choose WebP?
